    The Applications Manager – Corporate Applications will manage a team of Business Applications Analyst to design, develop/configure, implement, integrate and support Shirley Ryan AbilityLab software systems. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of systems projects to ensure project and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab goals are accomplished. Manages applications team to support Shirley Ryan AbilityLab information systems, ensuring system issues are resolved.

     

    The Applications Manager – Corporate Applications will consistently demonstrate support of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab statement of Vision, Mission and Core Values by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.

     

    The Applications Manager – Corporate Applications will demonstrate Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Core Attributes: Communication, Accountability, Flexibility/Adaptability, Judgment/Problem Solving, Customer Service and Core Values (Hope, Compassion, Discovery, Collaboration, and Commitment to Excellence) while fulfilling job duties.

     

    Principal Responsibilities

     

    1. Manages day-to-day activities of Information Technology staff to set priorities and optimizes Corporate Applications in collaboration with IT and Operational Leadership.
    2. Understands technology trends and government initiatives related to healthcare and business operations.
    3. Works closely with the Director of Corporate Applications and operational peers to develop the Corporate Systems Information Strategic Plan.
    4. Interfaces with leadership to identify business and system needs to support overall operations of the lines of services supported.
    5. Interviews, selects, counsels, mentors, and evaluates performance of direct reports and related resources.
    6. Maintains confidentiality of clinical and personnel information in keeping with policies of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
    7. Demonstrates effective problem solving and willingness to adapt to a changing environment.
    8. Maintains open, productive communication with the IT Leadership and representatives throughout the organization.
    9. Conducts regular meetings with staff and operational counterparts to ensure timely, relevant dissemination of information, identification of concerns, and active problem solving of pertinent issues.
    10. Promotes and maintains positive, productive partnerships inter- and intradepartmental to encourage effective collaboration. Provides consultation related to processes and information systems.
    11. Manages projects utilizing the standard project management methodologies, monitors systems, analyzes processes, evaluates outcomes, and recommends revisions.
    12. Ensures that appropriate systems are in place to support corporate staff.
    13. Responsible for contributing to the development of short and long range goals consistent with the mission, vision, and values.
    14. Integrates appropriate business and IT practice standards when planning and implementing systems.
    15. Participates in the development and revises policies and procedures related to corporate systems. 
    16. Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

     

    Reporting Relationships

    1. Reports directly to the Director, IT and Corporate Applications

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    1. Degree in Information systems (e.g., Computer Science) or Business Administration.
    2. Experience (7+ years) with managing implementations of packaged and/or custom business applications in a healthcare environment.
    3. Experience implementing ERP or HRMS applications.
    4. Demonstrated project and process management skills.
    5. Strategic orientation to establish a vision and act with broader benefit of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in mind.
    6. Achievement orientation with commitment to high standards of excellence and innovation.
    7. Experience managing and developing ERP/HCM applications.
    8. Understanding of and experience with applications lifecycle and development methodologies.
    9. Deep analytical and financial skills to prioritize team's work, quantify project costs and benefits and make trade-offs while implementing IT Corporate software systems.
    10. Strong ability to communicate with a broad set of individuals including Shirley Ryan AbilityLab executives, Corporate staff, subordinate staff, and technical staff.
    11. Solid judgment and strong problem solving skills.
    12. Strong sense and ownership and accountability to manage scope of responsibilities.
    13. Experience with delivery of superior customer service.
    14. Flexibility and adaptability to meet shifting needs of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
    15. Relationship building skills to forge connections with Shirley Ryan AbilityLab employees and 3rd parties.

    Working Conditions

     

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
