    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Assistant Manager, Digital Marketing will collaborate with the Associate Director, Digital Marketing to develop marketing strategies that optimize the online user experience, increase marketing effectiveness and improve customer satisfaction. Supports the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the website, sralab.org, maintains digital signage placed throughout the hospital, leads the social media strategy and provides assistance to the Marketing Team. Will work closely with internal and external technical teams to maintain current site standards ensuring content and functionality are correct and operational. The Assistant Manager will also support digital initiatives with Referral Development, Academy, Human Resources and Advancement on an as needed basis.

    Principal Responsibilities

    THE ASSISTANT MANAGER, DIGITAL MARKETING:

    1. Develops and enriches content on sralab.org via Drupal aligned with in-bound web strategy set by Associate Director; optimizes consumer-facing content and metadata for SEO and suggests improvements on an ongoing basis.
    2. Updates digital signage content via Drupal; curating submissions for content clarity and consistency, identifies and sources image needs, and controls network of signage feeds.  
    3. Identifies and implements editorial strategy for social media channels consistent with brand standards that integrates brand messaging and in-bound web traffic goals.
    4. Supports Associate Director in projects that enhance goals of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab’s administrative, clinical and research teams, and provides ongoing technical and functional support to all internal departments.
    5. Builds, updates, monitors and sends email marketing campaigns utilizing web and new content via contracted Email Marketing Management software and at times HTML.
    6. Participates in meetings with web development and search engine marketing agencies. Assists in ticket creation and prioritizing updates considering department and organizational needs.
    7. Collaborates with Agency and Associate Director on web analytics; provides insights to improve SEO, on-site search, and SEM campaigns.
    8. Monitors and reports relevant competitor activities on an annual basis as well as noteworthy and applicable trends and innovations in digital design and functionality.
    9. Provides graphic design support, as needed, for departments throughout the organizations by working within brand standards.
    10. Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

    Reporting Relationships

    1. Reports directly to Associate Director, Digital Marketing.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

    1. A professional level of knowledge of marketing and web development generally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree with relevant coursework and work experience.
    2. Proven ability to work effectively within a cross-departmental team and a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing content or production for high traffic websites
    3. Able to apply principles of on and offline design to effectively communicate key messages, manage complexity, and create audience engagement
    4. Experience working with outside agencies and associated budgets
    5. Experience using email marketing software such as Emma, Mail Chimp, constant contact, or similar
    6. Basic Knowledge of simple HTML and CSS – with ability to recognize, diagnose, and correct errors when needed
    7. A strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and Microsoft Office. Experience with Jira or other project management software a plus.
    8. Eye and expertise in design as demonstrated via a portfolio of work. Examples should include both on-line and off-line work and application to brand
    9. A strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
    10. Strong communication skills

     

    Working Conditions

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
