    General Summary

     

    The Senior Financial Systems Analyst participates in developing and deploying business applications and reporting solutions to drive evolving data and analytics needs. Applies technical proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and advanced Excel skills to leverage complex data in support of financial and operational objectives to drive strategic planning and decision making across the organization. This role works with leadership to develop and present key performance metrics and insights to meet current and future business needs.

    Principal Responsibilities

     

    The Senior Financial Systems Analyst:

     

    1. Administers existing financial applications and system(s) associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of financial data for department planning and activities.
    2. Supports Operations in developing and deploying financial applications to optimize clinical operations and decision support.
    3. Analyzes large Revenue Cycle data sets to determine trends or issues, and to provide actionable, data-driven recommendations. Develops and implements operational and KPI reporting and analytics in support of Revenue Cycle performance and financial objectives.
    4. Creates dashboards, reports and presentations for Shirley Ryan AbilityLab leadership, to provide analytical support across multiple business verticals including Clinical Operations, Finance, Marketing, etc. to inform on organizational objectives.
    5. Provides a variety of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual reports to support ongoing department operations.
    6. Populates and distributes performance metric dashboards and presentations, and creates visual tools to better inform management on strategic initiatives and outcomes.
    7. Provides data and analytics support for business planning and general organizational requirements.
    8. Perform analysis and interpretation of market trends, providers (hospitals, physicians), competitors, demographics and other industry information.
    9. Develops custom reports to meet the needs of Finance & Operations management and staff.
    10. Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

    Reporting Relationships

     

    1. Reports to the Manager, Financial Systems.

     

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

     

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance required; Master’s preferred, or related experience in the healthcare industry.
    2. 3-5 years of experience in healthcare management consulting or strategy.
    3. Proficiency creating dashboards and other visualizations in Tableau. Tableau certification a plus.
    4. Familiarity in working with ERP Financial module- Workday Adaptive/SAP FICO. Implementation experience is a plus.
    5. Experience using Tableau or other tools to aggregate and analyze data collected from multiple sources.
    6. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel with strong experience utilizing other MS Office products. VBA skills a plus.
    7. Some experience with SQL, Python, R/R-studio, and Alteryx is a plus.
    8. Working knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement, clinical operations, and/or healthcare revenue cycle operations.
    9. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to establish and meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
    10. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

     

    Working Conditions

     

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
