School Counselor School Counselor Summary Title: School Counselor ID: 4165 Department: Adolescent Outpatient Services Location: 301 Justice Lane, Bunnell, FL 32110 Description Salary Range: $13.39/hr - $15.15/hr DOE Working Hours: 40 hrs week; Mon-Fri; 8am-5pm Non-exempt Provides Substance Abuse Intervention and Mental Health Prevention services to identified at-risk youth, primarily at Flagler County High Schools or at GC Miller Middle School in Putnam County, Florida. Supports the agencys Intervention and Prevention program through outreach activities to identify children referred by the school system, the sheriffs office, the court system and Juvenile Justice. Works offsite in school setting to deliver substance abuse and mental health counseling services to identified children/adolescents. Follows the protocols for service delivery established by the agency in cooperation with the School Board. Position has productivity units. Travel may be required. Qualifications Bachelors Degree from an accredited school in a relevant human services field. Two years experience working with at risk youth preferred. CAP preferred. * Must be knowledgeable and proficient in use of computer and computer software used by agency. * Must have good decision making skills. * Must possess and maintain excellent interpersonal communication skills. * Must be able to work independently, with minimum oversight. Responsibilities * Accepts referrals in timely manner, completes screening, intakes and follows up on no shows. * Maintains cooperative working relationship with the county schools where services are provided. * Links identified youth and families to community-based services and completes required prevention/intervention documentation within 48 hours. * Develops and Implements referral tracking system to ensure services are being delivered in a timely manner. * Works collaboratively with other community agencies to develop, plan and assist with implementation of evidence-based substance abuse and mental health education programs. * Provides intervention services in time frame established by State. * Provides prevention services when needed.
