Staffing Resource Specialist - Home Health Role Purpose: ** ** Under general supervision following established policies and procedures, coordinates clinician schedules and the activity and effectiveness of the scheduling to meet staffing needs based on a patient census up to approximately 1000 patients for the organization. Utilizes automated technology to facilitate scheduling and improve efficiency for approximately 40 FTE clinicians while maintaining a positive customer satisfaction. Responsible for managing visit completeness and order timeliness performed by field staff and will utilize effective communication to assure staff compliance. Responsible for determining and assigning appropriate service codes to visits. Will manage and approve clinician requests for schedule changes affecting patient visits within department guidelines. Responsibilities: * Implements and utilizes appropriate software for automated scheduling and acts as a resource in training staff on the program. Acts as a champion and notifies manager of barriers to implementation. * Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of the process used in scheduling. Continually seeks methods to improve the process. Prepares and analyzes appropriate reports. * Calculates staffing needs based on personnel schedule, caseload, geographic locations and cost effectiveness. Schedules visits for field staff and assists with adjustment of staff daily schedules to utilize PRN/agency staff within approved productivity standards and cost containment. * Proactively monitors staffing needs and in conjunction with managers/supervisors, develops and implements staffing patterns to assure appropriate skill mix and adequate staffing at all times. Plan ahead for vacation coverage. * Problem solves patient and staff concerns and directs issues appropriately to Clinical Supervisors. Completes OFI forms appropriately. * Makes recommendations to supervisors for adjusting staffing based on patient census and schedules low census time off for staff. * Provides orientation to new employees regarding staffing policies and procedures, including the computerized scheduling system. * Holds staff accountable to policy and procedure of documentation and informs supervisors when necessary. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * High School or GED * At least one year of healthcare relatedexperience * At least one year of computer experience Preferred Qualifications: * Associates degree * Professional experience in direct cliniciansupport * Professional experience in clinical or clinicianscheduling * Experience with McKesson or EPIC Department Specific: ** ** Must have strong interpersonaland communication skills with co-workers, especially through telephoneconversations. Strong telephone and computer skills necessary.
