    Protective Services Sgt. Night Shift Security Services SergeantJob PurposeTo protect the lives, safety, security, and belongings of St. Anns residents, employees, volunteers, visitors, the corporation(s), and any other authorized individual or part of St. Anns Community. Trains new Officers and is Officer-in-Charge in the absence of the Supervisor.Performance OutcomesHighlights of This RoleAssumes basic non-supervisory duties of Security Supervisor in his/her absence, including noteworthy incidents to the Assistant Director of Facilities ServicesAssists in Officer shift schedules as directed by the Security Supervisor.Coordinates Officers PTO and STO under the auspices of the Security Supervisor.Assists with the monitoring, compilation, and/or execution of fire alarm and disaster drills.Monitors and files Loss & Damage Reports.Assists Supervisor with reports, training, surveys, inspections, and the like.Makes scheduled FMS wand tours throughout the complex and programs and downloads information from FMS security watch program to include affixing bar codes and changing schedules.Observes any safety hazards or problems and reports these situations promptly, ensuring that appropriate follow-up occurs. Responds immediately when called for assistance, and attempts to resolve situation using proper policies and procedures of St. Anns and the Security area.Always acts within the laws, codes, rules, or regulations of New York State & other governing agencies.Fills out all required reports and forms for each tour of duty. Informs the relief Officer of any pertinent events, information and/or actionsRegulates and controls parking situations, including daily activity and special events and issues notices when vehicles are in violation of prescribed regulations governing such.Relieves the Switchboard Operator or Receptionist as determined. Becomes fully knowledgeable as to the operation and procedures of the main switchboard, the Heritage reception communication system, and Chapel Oaks reception and systems.Familiarizes and learns operation of all pertinent equipment such as CCTV cameras, ID systems, alarm panels, fire equipment and elevator operations among others.Responsible for knowledge of the facility layoutReports for duty with a neat, professional appearance and in proper uniformCalls Supervisor or Director of Facilities Services for situations that warrant such actionQualificationsEducation & Experience:High school diploma or GED; one (1) to three (3) years experience in security or criminal justice; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be certified under the Security Guard Act as a security officer Supervision:Oversees Security Officers in the absence of the Supervisor.
