SPD Tech (Per-diem/rotating schedule) St Christophers Hospital 61 reviews - Philadelphia, PA The Central Service / Processing Technician is responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, assembly, inspecting, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment for Surgical Services and all Ancillary Departments. Also, for tray modification, identifying instrument shortage and provide information required for reordering supplies. This includes working in conjunction with the OR staff to provide timely sterile products, trays and case carts where applicable. The Central Service / Processing Technician maintains consistency and continuous workflow between the OR and Central Processing while practicing above average customer service. Skills & Abilities: Demonstrates a superior knowledge of processing and sterilization procedures, excellent organizational skills, and good communication skills. Lifting, standing, pushing, pulling, walking. Ability to take call, work various shifts including nights, holidays, and weekends. Training & Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited school for Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology Program Certification required Experience: Minimum of one year experience in an SPD department utilizing a Case Cart System.
