    Clinical Informatics Specialist -In this position, the Informatics Specialist is responsible for workflow analysis and end-user support of the electronic medical records (PM & EMR)/Clinical Application system(s). The Informaticist will work in collaboration with the local and system Operational, STSC, Learning & Development, and Quality teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Workflow analysis Assists with electronic medical record (EMR)/ Clinical Applications maintenance and optimization in joint venture with site end-users, directors, managers, project managers and STSC analysts and architects Evaluates workflow and Epic system integration and provides recommendations Provides communication of any changes in production, overall system upgrades or enhancements to ensure an effective flow of information through the organization Builds collaborative relationships with clinical and ancillary areas to facilitate an integrated electronic medical record Assesses and identifies risk and issues throughout all aspects of the EMR application Researches and provides analysis for other Clinical Applications as needed. Develops and coordinates the execution of user test plans Documents application and operational policies and procedures End-user support Highly involved in supporting and promoting the EPIC project as well as other Clinical Applications as needed Provides clinical patient documentation assistance to providers and care staff Provides providers and care staff with just-in-time end-user support and education reinforcement Makes intention rounds within the facility to inquire of any issues, seek input for change, and observe workflows Assists providers and care staff with EMR and Clinical Applications functionality and the investigation and resolution of application issues via in-person support, by phone, or computer remote Ensures timely resolution of day to day issues as identified by end-users, assists in determining whether the EMR or Clinical Application issue is a process issue, performance issue, or product issue Providers support to non Epic system technologist as identified by supervisor (such as Dragon, POS Wells Fargo, etc.) and may vary between other care sites based on needs Data and Quality Analytics Support Collaborates with Quality analysts/resources for validation of reports and development of supporting workflows Understands core quality reports and provides education to end users and clinical/financial leaders on how to manage and run Understands core Business, along with Financial and Clinical Key Process Indicators (KPIs) to support Data Driven care Application Training & Competencies Trains non-clinical, clinical staff, and providers for implementations of new technologies and incorporates into curriculum (if not provide through system standardization efforts) operational process, policy best practices, and workflows Trains new hires and current associates on information systems and other operational needs (such as point of service tools) which can include and is not limited to soft skill training (such as customer service etc.) Maintains personal training credentialing through collaboration with Corporate Training team Supports and executes yearly competencies Project Management Schedules, facilitates, or assists during meetings through project life cycle with multi-functional teams, which may include teams spanning the organization Schedules tracking and reporting of projects on status, lifecycle stage, and completion Creates accurate and complete project documentation in order to facilitate projects locally or organizationally POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education (Certification, Licenses): Associate degree in Technology, Medical Insurance Billing and Coding, Health Information Management, or Clinical discipline required Bachelors degree in Healthcare, Informatics, Business, Computer-related major, or Clinical field preferred Current state License or Registry as a Registered Nurse (RN), Respiratory Therapist (RT), Radiology Tech, or other applicable health care discipline preferred Experience: Two years of experience in health care as an end user with Clinical Information Systems and computerized clinical charting or Practice Management & Physician Billing systems (Reg/Sched/Coding) required One-year experience in project management, process design/workflow analysis, policy and procedure development, training, testing, or education required One year experience with Epic Ambulatory in physician practice or Hospital care setting preferred Four years experiences in Healthcare informatics preferred Process Engineering and/or Quality Improvement experience preferred Experience in training system end-users preferred Other: Proficiency with basic word processing and presentation applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite with Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service oriented environment required Proficiency in flow diagramming software (i.e. VISIO) preferred Organization:Saint Joseph Hospital, Denver, CO Primary Location:CO-Denver/Boulder/Surrounding Areas-Denver Department:SJD-Clinical IS Schedule:Full-time Shift:Day Shift FTE:1.0 Job Number:18001996
