    Job Summary:

    The Staff Accountant will be actively involved in accounting functions related to day-to-day operations of the business, as well as month-end and year-end closing activities. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting duties including, but not limited to:

    • Manages PCard file and codes expenses to appropriate GL accounts.
    • Creates revenue files; makes monthly revenue journal entries.
    • Performs monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Enters elimination and allocation journal entries.
    • Creates monthly non-cash journal entries.
    • Assists with bi-weekly payroll review and makes necessary payroll journal entries.
    • Creates monthly accrual entries payroll and PTO.
    • Documents equipment loan accruals.
    • Assists with cashflow and budgeting.
    • Tracks employee recognition spending.
    • Completes monthly bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
    • Calculates and enters various prepaid accrual journal entries.
    • Completes monthly vendor spend analysis.
    • Maintains fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
    • Prepares month-end reports for JACS entities.
    • Assists with preparation of Ops management package.
    • Creates monthly combined financial statements.
    • Assists with reviewing Staff Accountant entries.
    • Works closely with Controller to ensure month-end close deadlines are met.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications:

    • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent education and job experience required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with emphasis in accounting preferred.
    • 1 year of prior accounting experience required.
    • Prior healthcare field experience preferred.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficiency in intermediate data analysis, including the ability to manipulate data to extract meaningful insights to assist in informed business decision-making.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.), Word, and Outlook skills.
    • Keen eye for detail when analyzing financial data, ensuring the presentation of accurate financial statements.
    • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. Contingent upon performance, this position may have the option to work from home one day per week following 120 days of employment.

    Compensation & Work Schedule:

    • Full-Time: 40 hours/week.
    • Exempt.
    • Day Shift: Monday - Friday.
    • No evenings or weekends.
