  • Responsibilities

    Stamford Health is looking for a full-time Security Officer. The security officer observes and reports activities and incidents, providing for the security and safety of hospital property, personnel, patients, and visitors. Makes periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives. Assists with parking services for patients and visitors to Stamford Hospital.

    THIS POSITION WILL BE WORKING WEEKDAYS, INCLUDING WEEKENDS. SHIFT: 2:00PM TO 10:00PM (5 DAYS/8 HRS.). * FLEXIBILITY IS A PLUS.

    Required Skills

    • High School graduate or equivalent.
    • Current State of Connecticut Security Officer License.
    • Current Drivers License.
    • Maintains clean driving record.
    • Knowledge of state driving standards practices and laws.
    • Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.
    • Ability to work a variety of shifts based upon needs of department.
    • Ability to be an effective team member.
    • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
    • Courteous telephone manner.
    • Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
    • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.
