  • Responsibilities

    The Radiology Tech Aide assists the technologist(s) by providing support with the patient preparation for exam, transporting, clerical/data entry, screening, and room readiness. The aide ensures patient privacy and excellent customer service and can multi-task and address issues independently, as necessary.

    HOURS MONDAY TO FRIDAY FROM 8AM TO 4PM- LOCATION TULLY CENTER.

    Required Skills

    1. Respects and protects the patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for professional purposes which are in the patient’s best interests with full consideration of their legal rights.
    2. Provides safe patient care by verifying patient identification according to established policy and assures the presence of any screening forms, scripts and all laboratory reports indicated
    3. Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, and other hazardous substances.
    4. Facilitates workflow for all out-patient radiology modalities. Prints daily schedules to ensure optimal workflow. Puts together patient folders with reports and scripts. Communicates any delays to the front desk and patients. Handles all incoming calls and communication from various doctors’ offices/ ICC/POP/STAT LINE. Updates radiologists with pending patients at end of day.
    5. Provides results to patients for same day breast imaging results and documents accordingly.
    6. Other duties as assigned.

    Required Experience

    • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
    • One year of Radiology department experience highly preferred.
    • MAINTAINS CURRENT BLS CERTIFICATION.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their family members, physicians, and other health care workers.
