Provides care and treatment for the most complex resident problems; consults with supervisor and professional direct care staff on appropriate treatment and modification of treatment plans. Identifies the need for both security and therapeutic intervention; takes corrective actions to prevent and/or halt adverse resident behavior including physical restraint of violent residents. Assists supervisor in the development and implementation of new/revised policies and procedures. Supervises and evaluates activities of subordinate security staff; establishes goals and objectives for subordinate security staff; provides training and assigns duties; sets staff schedules and approves time off; counsels employees concerning work performance, productivity and/or conduct. Minimum Requirements: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school. Requires two years supervisory experience in security therapy work, including successful completion of an approved Security Therapy Aide Training Program or equivalent experience. Requires knowledge of treatment modalities, security systems and supervisory skills. Requires ability to understand, formulate and effectively implement complex oral and written instructions. Requires ability to physically restrain residents.
