    Responsibilities

    Johnson & Johnson innovative medicine is recruiting for a Summer Intern/Co-Op – Immunology, located in Spring House, PA. The Immunology Discovery group is focused on discovering novel therapeutics to treat inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The broader group focuses on adaptive immune mechanisms and pathways, and includes members at the Spring House, PA; La Jolla, CA; and Cambridge, MA campuses.

    • The Summer Intern/Co-Op in Immunology will actively engage in early discovery efforts to support Janssen’s Immunology discovery strategy.
    • This internship will work in large pharmaceutical R&D units. Learn and implement immunological laboratory techniques in cell biology, and molecular biology such as primary T cells culture, immunological functional assays, flow cytometry, CRISPR, siRNA and ELISA.
    • This individual will work together with their mentor to design and execute experiments, including primary T cells culture, Treg biology assays, characterizing surface markers and cytokine production by flow cytometry and ELISA.
    • The candidate will be responsible for interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and effectively present the findings to the project team and senior colleagues.
    • Conduct literature searches and reviews using public online databases.
    • Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety laboratory safety standards and maintain company compliance requirements.

    Qualifications

    In order to be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Legally authorized to work in the US and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (ex. H1-B, F-1)
    • Currently pursuing a University degree, completing minimum undergraduate sophomore year prior to internship or co-op start date.
    • Must be available to work full time.
    • Be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point
    • Be detail-oriented with excellent organizational, record-keeping and documentation skills.
    • Preferred for experience with primary human cells/tissue culture and sterile technique.
