    Job Description:

    Sales Intern - Sales Leadership Development Program (SLDP)

    The Sales Leadership Development Program (SLDP) is seeking a highly motivated Sales Intern to join our commercial organization for the Summer Internship Program. This role provides hands-on exposure to the sales and commercial environment within our Vision/MedTech business. Interns will gain real-world experience through field shadowing, commercial project work, and collaboration with teams that directly support the sales organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Sales Shadowing & Field Experience

    • Shadow field-based Territory Account Managers to observe customer interactions, selling strategies, and territory management.
    • Participate in ride-alongs, customer engagements, and in-service observations where appropriate.
    • Learn how our sales team's partner with Optometrists and healthcare partners to deliver customer and patient value and drive sales.

    Commercial & Business Project Work

    • Bring a project to life that supports the Field Sales Organization by partnering with sales and commercial leaders.
    • Conduct competitive research and develop insights to support sales planning.
    • Deliver a final presentation summarizing project outcomes and recommendations.

    Professional Development

    • Receive mentorship and guidance from SLDP leaders and experienced sales professionals.
    • Participate in learning experiences that provide exposure to commercial strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership expectations.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Strong academic performance with 3.0.
    • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student entering junior or senior year.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Interest in sales, healthcare, or the medical device/MedTech industry.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
    • Willingness and ability to shadow field-based sales roles.

    Preferred:

    • Prior internship or project experience in sales, business, marketing, or analytics.
    • Strong analytical, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.

    Candidate Eligibility Requirements

    Candidates must:

    • Be authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship requirements.
    • Remain actively enrolled in their academic program throughout the entire internship period.
    • Be available to work 40 hours per week during the internship.
    • Should have a minimum GPA of 3

    Program Details

    • Duration: Summer (8-12 weeks)
    • Schedule: Full-time during internship period
    • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate aligned with internship guidelines
    • Location Requirement: On-site in Jacksonville, FL; some field travel may apply.

    Program Outcomes

    At the conclusion of the internship, interns will:

    • Develop an understanding of the medical device commercial and sales ecosystem.
    • Strengthen communication, analytical, and project management capabilities.
    • Gain exposure that supports readiness for future commercial or leadership development opportunities.

    Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.
