    TITLE:                          Career Services and Internship Coordinator

    HIRING SALARY:         $37,281 - $40,830 annually; all salary calculations to start at the minimum salary  

    HOURS:                        8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday; (hours may vary to include evenings and weekends)

    MAJOR FUNCTION: The Career Services and Internship Coordinator develops, delivers, and coordinates career pathways programs that align with Guided Pathways.  The Career Services and Internship Coordinator is responsible for job readiness offerings, providing an integrated set of programs and services that augment students’ academic Pathway and technical or workforce employability skills.  Primary duties will include, but are not limited to: 

    • Plans, develops, organizes, and manages experiential learning opportunities for TCC students to include internships, job shadowing and informational interviews; works with academic divisions to provide these opportunities to support course, degree and certificate requirements; facilitates and coordinates innovative delivery of these programs; assists in the establishment of short and long-term goals for the program; establishes new and fosters current working relationships with local employers and sets up and monitors experiences with those employers. Manages and revises (as needed) requirements for student participation; interfaces with business and industry staff; oversees enrollment process and teaches internship course (IDS 2941); interfaces with faculty regarding curriculum and supervision of students in these programs to assure program meets professional standards of the certificate or degree program.
    • Plans, develops, organizes, and implements job readiness workshops, aligned with meta majors, to prepare students for experiential learning and workforce experiences. Collaborates to develop assessments for the workshops and students; provides feedback to students on readiness for experiential learning programs; Reviews and approves résumé, cover letters, applications and job postings including those uploaded to the online job board. Coordinates Career and Job Fairs each semester.
    • Assists in the development of external agreements, contracts, and Memoranda of Understanding with business, industry, social service agencies, and the community for experiential learning programs; coordinates all experiential learning logistics: advertising, materials duplication, process & completion. Ensures student support services are provided.
    • Collaborates with faculty & staff to provide current information to students. Assists students in the career decision-making process; stays current with latest workforce trends & technical resources to increase student engagement and Career Service’s effectiveness and efficiency; assists with the development and implementation of marketing plan and strategies. Acts as a liaison with campus departments and faculty members on matters pertaining to internships, job shadowing or informational interview experiences; prepares timely documents and program engagement reports.
    • Develops and monitors Career Services cost center expenses.

     

    MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:  A Bachelor’s degree in a related area and three (3) years related experience; or a Master’s Degree in counseling, higher education, distance learning, student affairs personnel or related area and two (2) years of experience in a related field.

Ability to work independently or as part of a group. Ability to initiate, develop, and implement programs. Ability to work effectively in a diverse community and meet the needs of diverse student populations. Ability to handle multiple complex and broad priorities and tasks. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate assignments. Ability to interpret raw data, draw inferences, and clearly articulate how this data can improve College/Division’s operations. Ability to critically assess situations and make sound judgments. Ability to represent the Dept., Division and College in a positive, professional manner. Capable of counseling and empowering students to help refine their job performance skills. Ability to interface with appropriate college departments, programs and stakeholders, in order to develop, maintain and grow our Internship Program for TCC students. Ability to build long-term relationships and alliances to ensure delivery of high-quality training programs and services to students and employer.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Minimum five (5) years US Air Force administrative support experience. 
    • Complete understanding of DTS and JTR.

     

    EDUCATION REQUIRED : Associates degree required. 

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: TopSecret, US Citizen
