Suncoast Hospice was established in 1977 by a group of volunteers who realized the value of hospice care and wanted to bring it to their community. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Hospital Admissions RN to assess eligibility for the Continuum of Care Programs within Suncoast Hospice and Empath Health while providing optimal access in a hospital setting. The Hospital Admissions RN will also act, in concert with the Professional Liaison, as a consultant to the hospital to educate them about Empath Health services, access to hospice care and delivery of end of life care. It is expected that this role is an expert in end-of-life services, as well as adept at marketing and educating the professionals at the hospital. He/she will be expected to identify and facilitate opportunities for an increased Empath Health presence and collaborations which will improve access to hospice care and related programs. The Hospital Admissions RN leads the admissions clinical presence in the hospital, coordinating with other Admissions RNs, the Professional Liaison, the Patient Concierge and any other Empath Health employees working in the hospital to ensure timely response and access to hospice services. Position Requirements As a Hospital Admissions RN with Empath Health you must be patient/family focused, loyal, motivated and interested in serving your community. Other requirements of this role include: Education and/or Experience: Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensure: o Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse o Valid Florida State Drivers License Continuing Education: As required for licensure. Certifications: CPR required Post Offer Employment Testing (POET) or Fit for Duty examination (as necessary) with Capable result required. The ability to type 25 wpm is highly preferred. Must receive a passing grade on a pre-employment computer literacy evaluation. Applicants provisionally accepted for employment will be required to undergo a fitness for duty evaluation. The individual will be required to simulate the tasks that they would normally be expected to perform in their role.
