  • Responsibilities

    Responsibilities include supervision of the hospital’s billing and collections functions, timely submission of claims to all payors both electronically and hardcopy. Maintains accounts receivable billing and collections goals. Establishes and implements controls to ensure appropriate submission, billing, and payment cycles. Establishes and monitors auditing and billing policies and procedures to ensure maximization of revenue for the hospital.

    Required Skills

    1. Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
    2. Knowledge of principles and fundamentals of budgeting, accounting, record-keeping and business writing.
    3. Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
    4. Strong organizational, leadership, customer relations, oral and written communication skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administration.
    5. Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with HCPCS and ICD-10 coding preferred.
    6. Knowledge of computer software programs (Excel Preferred) and use of basic office equipment.
    7. Thorough knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations as they pertain to billing as well as other third party billing requirements.

    Required Experience

    Work Experience:

    • Two years hospital billing and collection experience. One-year supervisor/manager experience in hospital or health care setting preferred.

    License/Registration/Certification:

    • None.

    Education and Training:

    • Associate degree Required
