    POSITION DESCRIPTION We are seeking a full-time RESEARCH ASSOCIATE to provide support to the Epidemiology department. As an Optum team member, the Research Associate 1 fulfills an array of responsibilities critical to the success of the department. The Research Associate 1 will gain experience and expertise within the Company serving an important role both internally and externally as a liaison, information resource, and key point of contact.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Format project deliverables (Word documents, Excel files, and Power Point presentations).
    • Coordinate and attend team meetings; draft, distribute, and finalize team meeting minutes.
    • Plan, organize and manage data collection efforts of assigned chart abstraction or survey research activities.
    • Lead and manage the performance of all project consultants and vendors to execute project activities according to project milestones.
    • Act as a primary liaison between study team members and third parties (vendors, consultants, providers, and patients).
    • Maintain and communicate project timelines and status reports with internal project team members, vendors, and external consultants.
    • Organize, maintain, handle, and archive sensitive and protected information.
    • Submit studies for approval including internal health plan, Institutional Review Board and National Death Index.
    • Assist in the development of data collection materials and third party vendor/consultant training materials.
    • Support Epidemiologists and Project Managers with additional related tasks as needed (i.e. literature searches, archiving, audit preparation).
    • Conduct quality review checks of deliverables received from third party vendors and consultants.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor of Science (preferably in a life science discipline) or equivalent work experience
    • 1 year of experience in research support
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and Adobe Acrobat
