    Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology (Part Time) POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Care setting manages the patient/family experience through utilization of critical thinking, teamwork, effective communication, and nursing judgment/knowledge/skills. May lead interdisciplinary case conferences in outpatient special care centers. Principal Accountabilities Community- Promotes a positive relationship between Sutter Health and the community. Finance - Utilizes resources to deliver quality care in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Growth-Actively manages patient/family plan of care to achieve optimal health goals for patient/family. People-Coordinates the activities of the health care team in a professional manner according to the Standards of Excellence promoting a positive work environment. Quality- Provides optimal care to patients' and family which is collaborative, evidence based and meets national/facility standards to achieve the best possible outcome. Service - Cares for patient/family according to the Sutter Difference standards and activities ensuring the best patient/family experience. MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education, including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration: Current licensure California RN or Interim Permitee; BLS -Health Care Provider; see attached for department and facility specific requirements. CDE required for Children's Outpatient Services/PENS Clinic. CCS paneling preferred for outpatient services; required within 6 months. For Trauma: Current certification of BLS, IV Therapy, ACLS, and TNCC required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BS preferred; required for California Children's Services (CCS) Special Care Centers. Knowledge Must have demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills and effective English written and communication skills.Knowledge of population-specific learning principles relative to patient teaching. For Trauma: In-depth knowledge of nursing process in assessment of physical and psychosocial needs of trauma patients through understanding of the pathophysiology of multi-system traumatic injuries, associated nursing diagnoses, and appropriate treatment modalities. Experience: For Pediatrics: 2 yrs Clinical experience of which 1 year is in Pediatrics is required for CCS Paneling. Prior experience working in discharge planning and/or outpatient setting. For Trauma:Emergency or critical-care experience. Outpatient or clinic experience to include knowledge and use of available resources and systems. Skills: Independently practices and prioritize multiple demands in a ever-changing environment.
