    Job Description:

    Robotics & Digital Solutions is a part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Systems Integration Engineer with a focus on power systems & computer HW, located in Santa Clara, CA.

    At J&J Robotics we're changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers' abilities and improve patients' diagnoses, treatments, and recovery times. J&J Robotics was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health, Verb Surgical, C-SATS, and Ethicon. It comprises three key med-tech platforms: Flexible Robotics (MONARCH®), Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA™), and Digital Solutions. Join our collaborative, rapidly growing teams in the San Francisco Bay Area, Cincinnati, and Seattle. You'll collaborate on breakthrough medical technologies that unite multiple subject areas to build a connected digital ecosystem that advances medical professionals' skills and improves patient outcomes.

    In this role you will partner closely with the OTTAVA™ Software, Hardware, and Systems teams to develop and implement integration plans to deliver power systems and the newest compute technologies.     Core Job Responsibilities:

    • Complete subsystem-level integration in the areas of focus
    • Decompose feature, requirement, and SW needs and evaluate computer HW design and capabilities to meet those needs
    • Characterize and de-risk the design from prototype to subsystem level.
    • Analyze results and provide meaningful insights or conclusions
    • Identify, root cause, and resolve novel issues that arise by collaborating with functional partners
    • Support innovation & development of test methods and fixtures for system/subsystem integration, test, and calibration

    Qualifications:

    • BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering or other applicable technical degree with 2+ years experience or MS with 1+ year experience is required.
    • Fundamental understanding across computer HW, software, and electrical engineering is required. A depth in one or more of the above subject areas is required,
    • An ability to quickly come up to speed in new technical areas is required
    • Experience partitioning and decomposing sophisticated engineering problems into solvable problems is preferred.
    • Proven understanding of programming concepts and ability to modify existing code (e.g. C++, python, etc) is required.
    • Hands on experience (academic or industry) with integrating computers or servers, electronic circuits, or computer networks is required
    • Understanding of engineering concepts such as system architecture, implementation, testing, and maintenance is highly preferred.
    • Experience with operating systems, computer component selection, and computer architecture preferred.
    • Hands-on experience with servers or other computer HW enabling advanced computing applications is preferred
    • Excellent self-starter with a can-do demeanor

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is 103,000 - 165,600 California Bay Area
