    We are searching for the best talent for TDS Proteins Development Material Sciences Co-Op to be in Malvern, PA.

    • 1 vacancy is currently available.
    • TheCo-op term is six months typically from January to June, 2027 (flexible).
    • Full time requirement (40 hours per week) Fully On-site.

    Purpose:

    The TDS Proteins Development Material Sciences organization is seeking a highly motivated Co-Op to support analytical testing, method development, and the expansion of internal laboratory testing capabilities.

    In this role, the Co-Op will contribute to the development and implementation of automated sample preparation methods for LC-MS based testing of cell culture media and in-process bioreactor samples. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in laboratory automation, analytical method development, LC-MS instrumentation, quantitative analysis, data processing, and experimental design within a collaborative scientific environment.

    You will be responsible:

    • Developing and implementing automated sample preparation methods to support internal LC-MS based analytical testing of cell culture media and in-process bioreactor samples.
    • Adapting existing manual sample preparation methods to robotic platforms to increase testing capacity and improve laboratory efficiency.
    • Performing manual sample preparation methods to support comparison and evaluation of automated workflows.
    • Supporting analytical method development, optimization, and implementation.
    • Gaining hands-on experience with laboratory automation, LC-MS instrumentation, sample preparation, and analytical laboratory techniques.
    • Performing quantitative analyses and processing experimental data to evaluate method and study performance.
    • Analyzing and interpreting experimental results using analytical and statistical techniques.
    • Participating in technical discussions and Design of Experiments (DOE) activities to address knowledge gaps and support project objectives.
    • Collaborating with internal and external partners and actively participating in project meetings.
    • Maintaining accurate laboratory notebooks and technical documentation in accordance with established guidelines.
    • Communicating experimental findings and providing additional laboratory and project support as needed.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific disciplines.
    • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
    • You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
    • Experience with basic laboratory techniques and equipment, including pipettors, analytical balances, and similar laboratory equipment.
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret experimental data and draw scientifically supported conclusions.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while contributing effectively to team objectives.

Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience or familiarity with laboratory automation and automated sample preparation workflows.
    • Experience with quantitative analysis and analytical method development.
    • Experience with experimental data analysis and basic statistical techniques.
    • Experience with liquid chromatography (LC), mass spectrometry (MS), and/or LC-MS is a plus.
    • Previous experience with analytical laboratory testing, sample preparation, or scientific research.
    • Experience with experimental design, execution, and data interpretation.
    • Interest in robotic laboratory platforms and improving analytical testing capacity through automation.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and ability to collaborate effectively in a laboratory environment.
