HAND THERAPIST

ARMS + HAND LAB

The Hand Therapist will take referrals from inpatient program patients to deliver evidenced based interventions for the arm post orthopedic or neurologic injury, burns. Assessments and interventions include the Administered Upper Extremity (UE) assessments including: Range of Motion, Grip and Pinch strength assessment, Disabilities of the Arm Shoulder & Hand (DASH), 9- hole Peg Test, Box and Blocks Assessments and developing plans of care such as Custom orthotic fabrication – splinting, home exercise programs, and functional based interventions.

Requirements

• Approximately 2 years of experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in splinting.
• Prefer certification in hand therapy but not required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Completion of a Master’s or Doctorate degree program from an accredited college or university.
• Current Illinois License to practice as an occupational therapist.
