    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Clinical Team Lead will assist in overseeing program development and service delivery for Day Rehab sites. Collaborates with all disciplines: allied health, medical, nursing, research and other disciplines as appropriate, in program development and implementation. Acts as a resource/clinical expert to ensure high quality patient care standards are met and maintained. Provides support for the Clinical Manager. This position will also provide direct patient care.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    THE CLINICAL TEAM LEAD:

    1. Assesses programming needs and develops site programming based on needs assessment.
    2. Assists with development and implementation of site specific documentation standards.
    3. Performs duties of the Clinical Manager in the manager’s absence and oversees clinical operations.
    4. Serves as liaison between nursing staff, medical staff, care managers, psychology, and allied health staff for clinical issues,
    5. Facilitates collaboration with the Academy, AbilityLab therapists and research teams to bridge practice between inpatient and DayRehab levels of care.
    6. Ensures staff compliance with utilization of pertinent educational system to improve the uniformity and quality of education received by patients.
    7. Leads annual Program Assessment to assess and develop goals for the program and organize committees to achieve program specific goals throughout the year.
    8. Collaborate with social work to ensure site has appropriate community contacts for successful patient community re-entry and discharge planning.
    9. Assists Clinical Manager as needed with patient admission and screening process and daily/weekly administrative tasks as assigned.
    10. Assists Clinical Manager in strategic planning for budgetary needs to support programming goals.
    11. Provides mentorship to new staff by assisting with treatment sessions, acting as a liaison for internal/external programming, and delivering education regarding new/revised clinic protocols.
    12. Assists Clinical Manager as needed with patient admission and screening processes.
    13. Ensures programmatic evaluation and treatment processes are utilized and implemented as indicated.
    14. Supports compliance with evaluation and treatment intensity standards.
    15. Assists with interviewing, hiring and orientation of staff.
    16. Provides Clinical Manager with timely and accurate feedback on staff performance.
    17. Supports quality patient care, ensures quality and timely documentation, and program goals, standards and targets are met.
    18. Participates in quality improvements in individual, team and program performance utilizing SRAlabQI and other mechanisms including auditing and feedback mechanisms (i.e. response time, satisfaction, and falls).
    19. Maintains environment of care through personnel staff compliance with policies/procedures and documentation standards ( i.e. emergency procedures, admission/discharge),
    20. Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

    1. Reports directly to the Clinical Manager

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

    1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited program of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology required.
    2. Current licensure or registration in the State of Illinois pertaining to the PT, OT, and SLP allied health practice.
    3. A minimum of two years of clinical experience in DayRehab.
    4. Current CPR certification required.
    5. Interpersonal skills sufficient for effective communication with patients, families, and institute personnel. Evidence of rehabilitation knowledge, leadership ability and communication skills.
    6. Able to maintain current knowledge of clinical practices and clinical developments and collaboratively share knowledge/skills as appropriate with staff.
    7. Requires analytical skills to plan and to assign work schedules, set priorities, give input on policies, procedures and budgets and to evaluate programs, new equipment and supplies.
    8. Working knowledge of information technology tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Cerner, electronic medical records, and appropriate web-based applications and services.
    9. The positions functions at 80% Clinician and 20% Administrative.
    10. Ability to transfer and position patients.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
