The Master Physical Therapist is committed to excellence in the profession of Physical Therapy, demonstrated by clinical expertise and contributions to the organization.
The Master Physical Therapist builds on the experiences gained as a senior therapist, and promotes independent, continued professional development. This role includes being an exemplar for the organization in the broader rehabilitation field as well as a dedicated mentor and collaborator for colleagues within the organization.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to performing all of the responsibilities of a Physical Therapist;
Leads the production and dissemination of evidence-based practice at the organizational, state, or national level.
Partners with leaders in the organization to establish practice priorities and to drive program development.
Disseminates information and actively contributes when regulatory changes occur.
Produces and/or performs professional presentations within the organization and/or in the profession.
Provides professional and/or clinical mentoring related to practice and documentation, for staff and students, driven by the needs of the organization.
Contributes to performance management evaluations of senior physical therapists.
Leads/coordinates operations improvement activities impacting his/her work area and/or patient population.
Actively participates in professional organizations, such as
Collaborates with key contacts in their practice area, driving innovation both clinically and at the research level.
Acts as an extender of practice leaders to implement changes in practice.
