  • Responsibilities

    GENERAL SUMMARY

     

    Responsible for coordinating, implementing and evaluating educational programs for interdisciplinary clinical staff.  Works with Center staff to develop instructional strategies for implementation of "best practices".  Assists in the identification of educational needs of clinical staff across the continuum.

     

    Consistently demonstrates support of the SRAlab statement of Mission and Philosophy by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.

     

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    1. ORIENTATION.  Implements, coordinates and/or evaluates the CCE orientation of new staff to clinical policies and procedures (including infection control, safety, and Hazard Communication)  prior to orientation within the COG.
    2. STUDENT AFFILIATION PROGRAM.  Works with Clinical Educator to provide clinical instruction of students in the Student Affiliation Program.
    3.  CLINICAL EDUCATION FOR STAFF.  Works with Clinical Educator in providing an ongoing continuous program of in-service education to clinical staff.
    4. COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT.  Implements initial and ongoing inter-disciplinary and discipline-specific competency skills training and evaluation.
    5. RECORD KEEPING.  Collects, analyzes, and/or presents data regarding orientation, in-service education, student internship, and other activities and functions related to the Center.  Maintains records of activities as required by the Institute and various accrediting bodies.

     

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    1. Participates in discipline specific council.
    2. Participates in appropriate Institute committees.
    3. Contributes to profession through presentations, publications, and involvement in professional organizations.

     

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

     

     

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

     

    1. Current State license for discipline-specific practice.
    2. Level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of the minimum degree required for their discipline-specific position.
    3. A minimum of 3-5 years relevant clinical experience.
    4. Knowledge and/or experience in instructional strategies for implementing education programs for rehabilitation personnel.
    5. Interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with all levels of health care professionals, to motivate and instruct staff therapists and students, and to represent the discipline, the Center, and the Institute to the general public and professional organizations.
    6. Understanding of budgetary principles and processes.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

     

    1.     Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
