    GENERAL SUMMARY

    The Executive Director, People Development will be responsible for overseeing strategic people development, which includes employee engagement, training and learning, talent acquisition, and leading talent development programs that focus on inclusive employee growth and development to align with the organizational needs.

    The Executive Director is a visible and high influence position that requires extensive collaboration with peers, leaders and colleagues at all levels of the organization in order to drive results-oriented talent solutions. The Executive Director will have the overall responsibility to drive an inclusion-centric talent and learning strategy in order to activate and accelerate a culture of belonging.

    The Executive Director will consistently demonstrate support of the SRAlab statement of Vision, Mission and Core Values by striving for excellence, contributing to the team efforts and showing respect and compassion for patients and their families, fellow employees, and all others with whom there is contact at or in the interest of the institute.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT:

    1. Provides leadership, vision, and project management to design, develop, and implement educational and training opportunities for development and retention of SRAlab staff.

    2. Analyze the training needs and gaps to design, deliver and coordinate education programs/curriculums aimed at developing and reinforcing the culture of learning and development.

    3. Monitors, identifies and partners with the leadership team and employees to resolve issues relative to the overall employee experience through employee satisfaction surveys, employee activities and overall administration of employee relations

    4. Oversees the strategic recruitment, search and selection initiative, while building a high performing recruitment function, to be a consistent, best-in-class, end-to-end candidate experience that differentiates SRAlab as an employer of choice.

    5. As a strategic business partner, drives the human capital strategic planning processes and initiatives focused on the attraction and retention of the diverse talent required to maintain a competitive advantage.

    6. Leverages HRIS and analytic functions to the best of their ability and to transform data into a simple, visual story to influence decision makers and optimize programs based on results.

    7. Recommends and implements an integrated scalable approach to impactful diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives comprised of awareness, action and practice anchored in the core concepts of SRAlab’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action (I.D.E.A) Council.

    8. Serves as a strategic business partner to staff development to build awareness and advocacy of SRAlab’s I.D.E.A Council and other essential impactful programs and initiatives.

    9. Prepare staffing budgets, projections, and employment policies, procedures, and practices.

    10. Regularly trains and coaches staff to enhance skills and drive for seamless execution.

    11. Maintains working knowledge of best practices, cutting-edge solutions and process to determine new approaches to SRAlab’s needs as it relates to engagement, training and talent.

    12. Evaluates, improves and builds leadership development to support SRAlab initiatives, manage change and enhance business performance

    13. Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of SRAlab.

     

    REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

    1. Reports directly to VP, Human Resources

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

    1. A minimum of 10 years progressive HR leadership experience, specifically with area of focus in people development.
    2. A minimum of five years healthcare (hospital) leadership experience.
    3. Education level appropriate with what is normally gained through the acquisition of a bachelor’s degree in the humanities or business. Master’s degree preferred.
    4. Demonstrated excellence in communications and diplomacy with all levels of staff and leadership.
    5. Excellent analytical, financial, planning, computer and writing skills.
    6. High degree of personal and professional credibility, including responsiveness, business focus, integrity, sound judgment and ability to prioritize effectively across competing demands.
    7. Outstanding team and relationship management, interpersonal, change management, conflict resolution, collaboration, creative problem solving, selling, negotiating and coaching skills.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.

    THE DIRECTOR OF TALENT:

     

    1. Develops and implements programs, plans, policies and procedures for recruitment, screening, selection, job placement, onboarding and career development and advancement.
    2. Develops and maintains contacts with educational institutions, employment agencies, placement firms and other sources of applicants.
    3. Determines online strategies for attracting and recruiting diverse candidates.
    4. Develops and manages employee onboarding programs and relocation programs.
    5. Generates a diverse candidate population using various methods, including internal job posting programs, on-campus and off-site recruitment programs including college relations, membership organizations, job fairs, conferences and media presence.
    6. Maintains data on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, hires, transfers, promotions, retention rates, talent, and talent development. Transforms data into a simple, visual story to influence decision makers and optimize programs based on results.
    7. Design, launch and manage Career Development programs to increase access to opportunities for our employees.
    8. Collaborates closely with the Communications and Marketing function for effective collaboration on media, recruitment, and talent messaging.
    9. Prepare staffing budgets, projections, and employment policies, procedures, and practices.
    10. Manages affirmative action and equal employment opportunity programs.
    11. Regularly trains and coaches staff to enhance skills and drive for seamless execution.
    12. Partners closely with Talent Management function to spearhead and implement improved recruiting and on-boarding technology. Leverages current technology systems to the best of their ability and lead the implementation of modern talent technologies as applicable.
    13. Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
