    FMS Payroll Specialist The Arc Central Chesapeake Region 4 reviews - Annapolis, MD $19.25 an hour - Full-time, Temporary Position Summary The Fiscal Management Services (FMS) Department works to provide financial service support to a specialized group of employers across the state of Maryland. A FMS Payroll Specialist works within the Payroll team to ensure a proper and timely bi-weekly employee payroll. The FMS Payroll Specialist also assists the Payroll team to process employee onboarding, updates, rehires, terminations, etc. The FMS Payroll Specialist facilitates open communication with all program stakeholders regarding program and internal policy and procedure. The FMS Payroll Specialist must be very versatile and able to successfully manage multiple demands and processing deadlines. This position is temporary, time-limited. Position Responsibilities Essential Functions Payroll Processing: Perform a broad range of payroll review activities including time card review, data entry and confirmation, and analysis of computer generated data using Paycom. o Receive and audit paper timesheets o Complete data entry of paper timesheet into Paycom o Review payroll data to ensure availability of funds and proper justification/documentation for payment o Assist with resolution of payroll issues/concerns in a timely manner o Assist with general administrative duties such as filing and emailing Employee Onboarding: Facilitate administrative functions related to employee onboarding, updates, terminations, rehires, and incident reporting. o Receive, review, and process new hire paperwork o Ensure compliance with all regulatory new hire requirements o Perform reviews of Medicaid exclusion lists to ensure agency compliance o Facilitate employee background checks o Work collaboratively with the FMS Employee Relations Specialist Customer Service and Stakeholder Relations: Communicate with employees, employers and their support teams regarding program requirements and internal policy and procedure. o Issue clearance forms and related communications o Confirm required employee certifications for onboarding and each payroll and facilitate communications regarding expirations o Request and process the required data regarding employee updates, rehires, and terminations o Request and process the required data regarding employee incidents/accidents o Provide timely and professional responses to employees, employers, and planning teams at large Other Functions · Maintain an understanding of self-direction and fiscal management services · Support all efforts of automation and system transition · Work in collaboration with AP, Financial Reporting, and Intake · As needed, assist with the general operations of FMS · Perform other duties as assigned by the FMS Payroll Manager or Director of FMS Education & Experience Requirements * High School Diploma or GED required; BS in business or human resources preferred * Minimum of 1 year of experience in Payroll and/or Human Resources * Knowledge and experience with Paycom is a plus * Strong attention to detail required for successful job placement * Professional and responsive in communication, conduct and interaction with co-workers; works well as part of a team * Strong customer support skillset * Able to work independently, determine priorities and implement necessary actions in order to meet reporting and processing deadlines * Possess integrity, accuracy, and ability to get things done in an efficient, respectful, and competent manner * Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding and ever-changing environment * Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other HR/payroll technology tools Benefits The Arc Central Chesapeake offers benefits which include: Health, Dental, and Vision Flexible Spending Account Voluntary Short Term Disability and Provider Long Term Disability Employee Assistance Program 403B Retirement Plan Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off, Bereavement, Vacation, and Sick Leave Job Type: Temporary Salary: $19.25/year This position is full-time.
