    Job Description

    We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist with a drive to make a difference through a broad spectrum of projects, programs and processes supporting multiple Transforming Age entities across the HR function. As a valued member of the corporate HR team, the HR Generalist will support the development and administration of programs, procedures, projects and processes across all divisions of the organization throughout the employee life cycle, from hiring and onboarding to development, retention and off-boarding. THIS POSITION WILL BE MOSTLY REMOTE (WORK FROM HOME); HOWEVER, CANDIDATES NEED TO BE LOCATED WITHIN THE GREATER SEATTLE METRO AREA.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company, improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Administer and assists with the rollout of new initiatives and projects across the spectrum of human resources and improvement of existing ones.
    • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Manage corporate systems such as the applicant tracking system, background check system, E-Verify and other systems.
    • Maintain relationships with corporate vendors, including assisting with contract negotiation as needed.
    • Maintain exterior recruitment sites such as LinkedIn, Indeed and Glassdoor career pages. 
    • Assist with various projects, initiatives and processes, including but not limited to –benefits programs, open enrollment, annual audits, new product implementations, job descriptions, performance reviews, process and policy development, employee engagement, Culture of Excellence, etc.
    • Create and manage data and analytics for human resources on both an ongoing and ad-hoc basis, including conducting research, collecting data, building complex excel reports, distributing and building explanations.
    • Complete pre-employment and onboarding steps for corporate staff members – background checks, education verifications, coordinating onboarding paperwork, and file creation. 
    • Ensure accurate and timely management of administrative human resources duties including maintaining employee files, sending out mailers, creating documents, monitoring systems, bill reconciliation, coding invoices, etc. Maintain HR records (online and paper), including organization of internal corporate HR server system, ADP Portal and the HR drive for employees and communities.
    • Create and prepare ad-hoc and reoccurring reports, including performance reviews, background checks, and other employee reports as requested
    • Work closely with other departments within the corporate office as well as within our communities to assist with HR and operational questions.
    • Serve as a member of the corporate HR team – effectively and broadly assist in additional HR-related matters when needed. 
    • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products – Strong proficiency with Excel (formulas, charts, pivot tables), Word (forms, tables and mail merge) and Outlook, and solid proficiency with PowerPoint.
    • Experience with corporate social media a plus (LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc.)
    • Experience with HRIS, benefits carrier databases, e-Verify and background check systems.
    • Highly proficient on HRIS, ATS, database systems. Experience with ADP Workforce Now and iCIMS highly preferred.
    • Experience in performance management processes and systems preferred.
    • Must be professional and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly meticulous, well organized, detail oriented and accurate.
    • Professional attitude, appearance and presence.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, setting priorities, solving problems, and making decisions and driving to completion and follow-through.
    • Ability to remain flexible, positive, collaborative and enthusiastic to changes, shifting priorities and new assignments.
    • Use discretion in handling confidential information, incorporating all Federal, State and local privacy and confidentiality requirements.
    • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with little direction.
    • Ability to have a mindset of curiosity and continuous improvement is highly preferred.
    • Must have a designated work space within the home away from distractions and interruptions.

    EDUCATION/EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's degree and three to five years of human resources experience, with experience in benefits administration; combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
    • HR certification is preferred – PHR and/or SHRM-CP.
