    Performs embedding, staining, sectioning and cover slipping of histologic specimens.  Provides care for patients under the direction of the physician/physician assistant in the clinic setting.  Works with patients to collect and record important health information/data.  Incorporates patient education tools, as appropriate.  Works as a part of the physician and nursing team including front desk and back office duties.

     

    Required Skills

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Associate degree in a Science.
    2. Documented laboratory training in MOHS lab preferred, but may consider on the job training.
    3. Must have and maintain BLS.
    4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    5. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
    6. Ability to perform POCT and injections.
    7. Ability to work independently, prioritize and problem solve.
    8. Excellent organizational skills.
    9. Considerable ability to provide superior customer service skills.
    10. Proficient in Microsoft applications and basic computer skills.

     

    Preferred Requirements

    1. Bachelors degree in a Science
    2. Histotechnologist certification preferred
    3. Eligible to obtain ASCP and ASMS certification within 1 year.
