This is a professional position working independently under the general direction of the department Manager and/or Chairman/Program Director/Clerkship Director. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develops, plans, implements and maintains the coordination of the undergraduate/graduate medical education programs for the department. Under the direction of Program and Clerkship Directors, assures program compliance with regulatory agencies such as ACGME and LCME
- Manages and coordinates the overall operation of undergraduate/graduate medical education programs for department under the general guidance of the department Manager and Program and Clerkship Directors
- Maintains accurate records to assure continued accreditation of the medical education program by the national accreditation organizations, such as ACGME, ADA, LCME, and RRC
- Manages the verification/competency assessment process for resident and student programs
- Develops, manages, and maintains records systems for students/residents
- Plans, executes, and evaluates the recruitment process of new residents
- Under the direction of the Department Manager and Program Director, assures that the program budget is managed appropriately
- Acts as a liaison to training hospitals, other health care facilities, educational institutions, and professional/accrediting organizations
- Plans and schedules required meetings and training for medical students/residents
- Maintains organized processes for undergraduate/graduate medical education programs
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as health sciences, business, public administration or education
- Three years experience in administrating an education program or high level administrative support
- Must be computer literate
- Master’s degree preferred
- Knowledge of accreditation or credentialing preferred
- C-TAGME certified preferred
