Plans and implements Therapeutic Recreation interventions within facility to enhance physical , cognitive, social and affective development and to facilitate daily living and community functioning skills; provides mentoring and leadership to non certified recreation therapists, and may participate in the supervision of TR students; works independently with limited supervision

Required Skills

• Graduation from college program with major in Therapeutic Recreation.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation specialist (CTRS), or other professional discipline certification when used in Recreation Therapy activities. Must maintain current certification for continued employment
• Verbal communication skills required to lead therapeutic activities
• Written communication skills required to complete required documentation
• If required by the department or program, must maintain current BCLS certification
• For Inpatient Mental Health Services, must obtain PRO ACT training within 90 days of hire and maintain training during employment
• If driving is a requirement for the employee, he/she must meet the requirements specified in the Fleet Driving Safety and Compliance Policy and must continue to meet these requirements as a condition of employment

One year experience preferred.
