Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum of 2 years in an Interventional lab with Neuro and Vascular experience registration in Radiology by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. RTR and CV
- One to two years experience as a staff technologist.
- Ability to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of a wide variety of special radiographic procedures and equipment.
- Ability to communicate with patients and all personnel involved in patient exam and operation of department in order to effectively coordinate and expedite a successful examination.
- Must have sound knowledge of medical equipment used routinely and in emergency situations. Arterial Pressure Monitor, Cardiac Monitor Suction, Automatic Injector, O2 Equipment, Code 99 Equipment.
- Ability to work under stressful and high pressure situations. Majority of angiographic patients are high risk and/or emergency patients.
- Frequent lifting of patients and pulling and pushing of light to heavy equipment.
- CPR review.
- Performs intravenous starts within the scope of practice.
- Cross training into the Diagnostic Section of Radiology.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The hazards of radiation, on-going and accumulative, especially in fluoroscopy.
- Regular exposure to blood, fecal waste and other body waste with possible risk of infection.
- Working in fluoroscopy, necessity of wearing a lead apron during the exam.
- Stands and walks most of the day.
- Constant contact with patients and physicians.

- Possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary to provide care to patients throughout the lift span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. This includes:
- Knowledge of growth and development
- Ability to interpret age specific data and response to care
- Provide age specific communication
