_FARNSWORTH 4 IS A 21-BED ADULT MEDICAL/SURGICAL FLOOR AT TUFTS MEDICAL CENTER THAT PROVIDES CARE TO COMPLEX PATIENT POPULATIONS FROM A WIDE VARIETY OF MEDICAL/SURGICAL SERVICES. THE PRIMARY SERVICE LINES FOR FARNSWORTH 4 INCLUDE GERIATRICS, GENERAL MEDICINE, AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES, AS WELL AS OTHER SERVICES INCLUDING: PULMONARY, RENAL, GI, CARDIAC, NEUROLOGY, HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY, AND ORTHOPEDICS. UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF THE REGISTERED NURSE (RN), THE CLINICAL CARE TECHNICIAN (CCT) PROVIDES QUALITY CARE TO THESE VARIOUS COMPLEX MEDICAL/SURGICAL PATIENT POPULATIONS. CLINICAL CARE TECHNICIAN’S ASSUME THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF ASSISTING PATIENTS WITH ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING, MONITORING VITAL SIGNS AND BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS, OBTAINING EKGS, AND MAINTAINING PATIENT SAFETY AND CONFIDENTIALITY. WE ARE SEEKING HARD WORKING AND COMPASSIONATE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN FUNCTIONING AS A MEMBER OF THE INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAM TO PROVIDE OUR PATIENTS WITH A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE CARE ENVIRONMENT. _
The Student Nurse/Clinical Care Technician works under the supervision of the professional nurse and collaborates to meet the needs of the patient within the scope of the role. The clinical care technician assists in direct patient care, provides environmental support and facilitates patient safety on designated unit and other units as needed. The clinical care technician has successfully completed and maintains competencies in role specific skills. The clinical care technician provides an environment supportive of the patient and family centered model of care.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Skills Assists the professional registered nurse in the functional care of patients, ensuring efficient and patient centered care appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population. Performs delegated tasks and communicates all findings/concerns to the professional nurse.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Current enrollment in accredited nursing program required
Completion of one clinical rotation preferred
Current BLS Certification Required
