    Job Description

    The student intern will work under the supervision of a faculty member on a defined project in line with their educational goals.  Specific tasks and learning objectives will be defined by the student and faculty members.

    Under the supervision of the DSMB program director, and in collaboration with the DSMB program coordinator, the intern will:

    • Internalize the project’s timeline, project protocol, study selection and data extraction methods.
    • Review and select eligible randomized controlled trials
    • Extract trial information into a data form
    • Assist with correspondence to trial investigators and with conduct of an online survey.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Familiarity, either through work experience or coursework, with clinical trials and data and safety monitoring boards
    • Excellent ability to read clinical trial reports, accurately extract information, quality check own and others’ work
    • Excellent and meticulous organizational and technical skills are of the utmost importance as are documentation skills, and interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently, under the supervision and as a part of a team is required.
    • Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the working groups achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Active enrollment in an MPH program or equivalent is required.

    • Typical office or remote setting.
