    Job Description

    I. GENERAL SUMMARY:

    The Center for Clinical Trials at Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies (ICRHPS) is seeking an intern to work on a research project on randomized trial internal validity. Job duties will focus on managing data, reviewing reports of selected trials, extracting relevant information, and performing statistical analyses.

    Schedule: 10 hours per week, flexible schedule

    Duration: February to May 2023 with possibility of extension

    II. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under the supervision of the Director for the Center for Clinical Trials and the Associate Director of the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Center, the intern will:

    1. Internalize the project’s timeline, project protocol, study selection and analysis methods
    2. Review and extract data from selected randomized controlled trials
    3. Perform data management and statistical analyses (meta-analytic and meta-epidemiological models)
    4. Assist with manuscript preparation

    III. JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Familiarity, either through work experience or coursework, with clinical trials
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent ability to accurately extract information
    • Excellent ability to quality check own and others’ work
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and communicate with team in a remote work environment
    • Excellent English language skills (oral and reading)
    • Proficiency with the R programming language

    IV. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Currently enrolled in a graduate program.

     

    V. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Typical clinical and administrative office setting.
    • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodation if disabled.
