The nurse will also assist Lung Center faculty with outpatient and inpatient clinical care as well as with procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, photodynamic therapy, laser resection, and pulmonary stent insertion. Demonstrates knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation and performs nursing assessment. records patient history, lab testing and radiology results as part of pre-procedure and conscious sedation evaluation(s). The nurse will serve as a contact for patients, physicians and staff, helping to ensure appropriate scheduling and authorizations and also assisting in patient education, discharge, and formulation of patient plans of care and follow-up. Salary Range: Rate Minimum $43.46 Midpoint $51.56 Maximum $59.66 Required Qualifications: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Basic Life Support Critical Care and/or Stepdown unit experience Current ACLS certification Current California RN license Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting Moderate sedation experience Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands: To comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 the essential physical, mental and environmental requirements for this job are listed below.
