The nurse will also assist Lung Center faculty with outpatient and inpatient clinical care as well as with procedures such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, photodynamic therapy, laser resection, and pulmonary stent insertion. Demonstrates knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation and performs nursing assessment. records patient history, lab testing and radiology results as part of pre-procedure and conscious sedation evaluation(s). The nurse will serve as a contact for patients, physicians and staff, helping to ensure appropriate scheduling and authorizations and also assisting in patient education, discharge, and formulation of patient plans of care and follow-up.
