DECEDENT CARE REPRESENTATIVE The Decedent Care Rep Prepares Death Packet; Acting as liaison with clinicians, HUCs, Nursing, etc. to expedite paperwork processing, bed turnover and release of decedent to funeral home; Working closely with clinicians to ensure the correct completion of death certificate; Conducting crucial conversations with families of decedents regarding need for an autopsy, disposition of remains, body transportation, etc; Auditing and routing all necessary paperwork and confirming that postmortem care has been provided correctly and completely with all the required documentation. This position is also responsible for acting as liaison with funeral homes, organ banks and the Medical Examiners office. Previous Decedent Care or Funeral Home experience is preferred but not required. The scheduled hours are: Monday thru 7:00am to 3:30pm. Training hours will vary. Requires Associate degree and three years of relevant experience.
