  • Responsibilities

    The Campground Desk/Store Clerk serves as an informational resource for campground guests and is responsible for guest registration and P.O.S. service in the General Store. Duties include:

    • Smile and treat guests with friendliness and respect
    • Provide guests with general information regarding the Campground and SMP activities, directions, venues, and history when requested
    • Manage and control cash transactions with register, taking personal responsibility for all monies due at the end of the business day
    • Learn and adhere to cashier/cash handling procedures manual and procedures set by Supervisor
    • Resolve guest complaints and problems professionally and friendly
    • Assist guests with registration, ticketing, and checkout processes as needed
    • Balance register at the end of each shift; identify and solve any cash discrepancies
    • Maintain clean working environment at all times. Closing shift responsible for trash removal, floor cleaning, and fountain cleaning
    • Maintain the General Store shelf stock and fountain products
    • Assist Guests with merchandise, fountain products, fish bait, and boat rentals
    • All other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    • Must understand, read, write and speak the English language

    • Must speak clearly and professionally when communicating by radio or phone with campground maintenance employees
    • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
    • Must possess a high attention to detail to identify and solve money discrepancies
    • Must possess an excellent teamwork ethic, but must also be able to work independently without constant supervision
    • Must be able to handle stress well and solve problems quickly
    • Must be willing to help guests at all times in a courteous and professional manner
    • While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to:
    • Sit and stand for long periods of time
    • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
    • Frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • Frequently required to talk and hear
    • Frequently lift and/or move, carry, push, or pull up to 30 lbs. with assistance
    • Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus and night vision
    • Take directional cues directly or indirectly

    Required Experience

    • Some High School education or equivalent required
    • Previous cash handling experience preferred
    • Customer service experience preferred
  • Qualifications
