At BMC, the dedicated Assembler Helper is an entry-level team member, responsible for assisting in assembling components, stocks lumber and plates and other work-related materials and supplies.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lays out component supplies and materials on carts or floor.
- Stocks plates for component set-up.
- Assembles components under the direction of the line leaders.
- Loads and bands finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
- Maintains work area, by keeping it neat and organized.
- May perform other special projects.
- Other duties as assigned by location management.
Required Skills
- Minimum Education: High school education and/or equivalent work experience.
- Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
- Temperatures will vary.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis and up to 100 lbs. on an infrequent basis.
- Dusty and noisy environment when operating woodworking machines and tools.
- Ear protection required when exposed to noise for an extended period of time, eye protection and hard sole leather shoes required at all times.
- Overtime work could be involved.
Required Experience
- Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; prior carpentry experience helpful.
