    Founded in 1972, UNIVERSITY HEALTH PHYSICIANS (UHP) has a long history of providing quality healthcare for Kansas City. Since its inception, UPA has grown to include over 150 medical staff doctors. As a private not-for-profit corporation we employ the medical staff faculty for the UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE. Our multi-specialty doctors provide patient care at the primary teaching hospitals and their clinics. The UPA administrative staff provides group practice management activities including billing and reimbursement services.

    UNIVERSITY HEALTH PHYSICIANS, and TRUMAN MEDICAL CENTERS is currently seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff in providing psychiatric services in a medical inpatient hospital setting.

     

    This position will work as leader of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatry residents, medical students and medical social workers.  Other duties will include: helping to cover our geriatric inpatient mental health unit during physician absences and teaching of psychiatry residents and medical students. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged. 

     

    The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry (experience in psychosomatic medicine preferred, but not required)

  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:  

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent experience and education.
    • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.

     

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

    • Knowledge of human resource laws and regulations.
    • Understanding of compensation and benefits policies and programs, employee relations practices, and recruitment techniques.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Three to five years of progressive experience in human resource positions.
    • Supervisory experience required. 
    • System implementation experience is preferred

    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communications abilities.
    • Solid interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
    • Effective project management abilities.
    • Bi-lingual preferred
