    Rogers is looking for an Intake Specialist (Admission Coordinator) to work with our patients during the intake and admissions process to make the steps of starting treatment easy, informative and supportive. We are looking for someone with a passion for helping who is empathic and able to listen to and connect with people going through a difficult time while working in a fast paced environment.

    Schedule:

    • PRN / As Needed - Based on your availability not on-call
    • Minimum commitment – 5 shifts a month, 3 of which on the weekend - ideal candidate would be able to work 1 day a week
    • Rotation for holiday as assigned

    Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate admission with patient and/or responsible representative to include admission information, directions, and information about the program they will be entering
    • Register patients within our Electronic Medical Records system
    • Explain insurance coverage to patients
    • Explain Rogers programs and services to family members
    • Collaborate with providers and other departments to ensure the patients needs are being met

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, or a related discipline
    • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a health care setting; health information, admissions, utilization review, or patient billing
    • Customer service experience is required
    • Empathy and understanding towards patients’ needs and challenges, creating a supportive and caring environment
    • Understanding of managed care, Medicaid, and Medicare insurance is nice to have
    • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records
    • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen

  • Qualifications
    • Able to perform all phases of blood collections required by the department within the normal time limits.

    • With consideration to age, ability to assess and utilize appropriate phlebotomy techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture, on patients of all age groups, from infancy through adult.

    • Written and verbal communication  and basic computer skills.
