Program Operations Specialists play a critical role in maintaining a positive working relationship with many of the drug-manufacturing (pharma) partners of Optum Specialty Pharmacy. As part of the team supporting drug access and services contracting, developing and implementing of these services, and providing designated or dedicated program management you will help:

    • Ensure expectations and needs of agreements are fully understood and executed
    • Seek input, guidance, and partnership from relevant internal stakeholders
    • Support implementation readiness
      • Operational, IT/Systems, and Clinical
    • Provide program oversight
    • Plan targeted referral interventions
    • Collaborate with Hubs and Manufacturers

    Positions in this function include those responsible for providing process and operational support to the functions within Specialty Industry Relations, with a focus on pharma sponsored programs. Positions in this function may also be responsible for quality reporting, analysis and audits, and for developing plans and programs to support continuous quality improvement using applicable tools. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide process and operational support
    • Execution of pharma programs
    • Serve as a resource / subject matter expert for internal teams
    • Apply knowledge/skills to complex activities within and outside of own function
    • Anticipates customer needs and proactively identifies solutions
    • Plans, prioritizes, organizes, and completes work to meet objectives
    • Facilitate resolutions with team, seen as a key team member on projects spanning more than own function
    • Support and participate in audit and QBR preparation
    • Track project or program progress, metrics, successes
    • Perform case research as needed, may respond to escalations
    • Host or support regular business collaboration meetings (internal and external)

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • Direct experience working within Avella Specialty, BriovaRx Specialty, or Optum Specialty Pharmacy business units
    • Experience with Specialty Pharmacy processes and procedures
    • Understanding of relevant federal and state regulatory guidelines (e.g., CMS, Boards of Pharmacy)
    • Understanding of relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint- ability to use applications / Microsoft Office: Microsoft Excel - ability to create spreadsheets, sort and filter data / Specialty Clinical Management Systems, Salesforce (BriovaRx Exchange) or Companion- the ability to maneuver in this application and the ability to search and share data)
    • Ability to work flexible schedule (primarily 8:30 am - 5 pm local time with occasional evening or weekend shifts)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
    • Extensive work experience in multiple functions/roles within specialty pharmacy business units
    • Pharmacy Tech License
    • Pharmacy Claims experience
