This is the place to do your life's best work.(sm) The COMMUNITY LIAISON is responsible for traveling locally to medical offices and clinics and ensuring seamless operations between WellMed and hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, and other liaison organizations. They are responsible for obtaining completed physician orders and any other medical documentation necessary to ensure continuation of patient care and proper billing. They will also monitor and restock inventory of WellMed durable medical equipment (DME) and medical office sites. This person works with patients, families, physicians, and other health personnel to provide the highest quality of care. They must act in a professional and ethical manner and collaborate with other members of the health care team to ensure quality patient care and excellent customer service. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinates with clinic personnel the pickup of signed orders, maintenance of the equipment closets, and any other issue that needs attention
    • Drops off orders, CMN's, T19's, LMN's to be signed and picks up signed documentation on a weekly basis
    • Responsible to tracking missing documentation and following up to ensure timely receipt according to the applicable laws, federal and state rules and regulations and Agency's policies
    • Tracks and maintains inventory kept at the referral sources
    • Routes paperwork according to established office procedure to ensure accurate recordkeeping
    • Participates in educational programs and all required in-service programs, as assigned by supervisor
    • Answers general questions about equipment, supplies and HCD Services
    • Direct customer support to assigned referral sources/customers on a daily basis
    • Daily route logs must be maintained daily and turned in every Monday morning
    • Receives and addresses customer complaints by routing specific or complex questions to appropriate individuals
    • Establishes a trusting relationship with customers and co-workers
    • Exhibits professionalism and is courteous with all customers and co-workers
    • Demonstrates knowledge and observance Notice of Privacy Practices

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 1+ years' customer service experience, preferably from a health care setting
    • At least a basic level of proficiency with MS programs (Word, Outlook)
    • Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel up to 75% within greater El Paso area

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous experience working in the medical industry, such as medical insurance, managed care, clinic or home healthcare
    • Previous EMR experience
    • Ability to work independently and remain on task
    • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills including telephone etiquette
    • Good organization and planning skills
    • Basic level of research and analytical skills
