  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Sets up patient meals. Delivers and picks up meal trays. Prepares diet desserts, sandwiches, milkshakes, and nourishments for patients. Assist in food preparation. Cleans and sanitizes equipment/service ware involved with tray line operation and food preparation. Picks up “late” trays and Dining Room trays upon completion of meal delivery. Delivers “Early Bird Beverage Service.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

    1. Washes and sanitizes delivery carts and refrigeration.
    2. Wraps silverware for meals.
    3. Completes special sanitation assignments.
    4. Cleans counters and sinks and coffee/tea station after use.
    5. Prepares and delivers floor supply and patient nourishments to storage.
    6. Stocks floor supplies and records refrigerator temperatures.
    7. Tastes and checks temperature of patient meals before service.
    8. Delivers and picks up patient meal trays; prepares bed stand for patient upon tray delivery.
    9. Ensures floor/patient and nursing needs are met.
    10. Checks with patient to assure that meals are appropriate and patient food service needs are met.
    11. Picks up “late” trays upon completion of meal delivery.
    12. Follows tray scripting to ensure excellent customer service.
    13. Utilizes two patient identifiers (Name & DOB) upon entering patients’ room for patient safety.
    14. Delivers “Early Bird Beverage Service.”
    15. Complies with regulatory requirements; maintains established departmental policies and procedures, including those pertaining to infection control, quality assurance, and safety.
    16. Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in the CARE Manual.
    17. Responds to the following Shore Health System codes: Code Yellow, Code D, Code Pink, Code Red (in the immediate area).
    18. Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee’s knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
    19. Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
    20. Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Food service/preparation or related experience/equivalent training preferred. Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and interpret recipes.
