    The Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is one of the integral organizations within the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS). We provide support to more than 29,000 employees and hospitals throughout the state of Maryland and Washington, D.C.     ** Principal Responsibilities and Tasks**

    Internship opportunities vary depending on education level and/or location. We offer internship roles in areas including but not limited to:

    1. Manage the team’s intranet page and support the Cybersecurity Awareness Program.
    2. Learn about Vulnerability Management and assist with tracking assets that need remediation.
    3. Learn about Third-party Risk Management and assist with Cyber-assessment of vendors.
    4. Assist with the research and evaluation of information-security-related solutions.
    5. Under guidance, provide first-level response to inquiries to the IT Security team.
    6. Assist with gathering analytics needed to support various areas of the Cybersecurity program.
    7. Assist with security policy writing and documentation and learn about the approval process workflow.
    8. Maintain and update the library of supporting evidence gathered during assessments.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Education and Experience**

    1. Currently enrolled at a college or university in a graduate, undergraduate, continuing education, or bootcamp program or a recent graduate of such a program within the last 12 months. 1. Major in a field related to the Cybersecurity or Information Technology 2. Course work, labs, or projects completed in the major

    ** Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

    1. Basic knowledge and understanding of your chosen career area.
    2. Effective communication skills.
    3. The ability to read and follow instructions accurately, timely and effectively.
    4. Excellent customer service skills.
    5. The ability to work as part of a team and with people at all levels in the organization
    6. Basic analysis and problem solving skills.
