    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Provides assistance to the clinical and clerical staff. Primarily responsible for assisting with Nuclear Medicine, CT, Radiology and film library procedures.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

    • Prepares patients for Imaging procedures. Operates equipment tables and gantries. Prepares patients for scanning.
    • Transports patients for all Radiology modalities as needed.
    • Manages film library functions, including the Radiology Information System and various office machines, printers and fax machine, Syntrac dose management system.
    • Schedules patients for procedures.
    • Prepares images for Radiologist interpretation, files reports as required.
    • Maintains inventory of supplies.
    • Ensures security in the receipt, transport and/or storage of medications to include IV solutions.
    • IV starts if competent.
    • Responds to the following Shore Health System codes: Code Pink, Code D, Code U, Code Red (in the immediate area).
    • Responsible for honest behavior in all matters. To the best of the employee’s knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
    • Performs job duties in a safety conscience manner.
    • Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information. Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the function of the job.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
    • Meet the physical requirements for the position according to Shore Works.
    • IV start competency to be acquired if not already completed.
    • The employee in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the age of the patients served.
