Job Description

1. Requiring a minimal level of supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Cardio-Vascular Interventional Technologist is responsible for addressing the special needs of patients undergoing interventional angiography procedures. The Technologist provides direct patient care specific to their discipline, to include basic monitoring, assisting the physician with invasive radiographic procedures, and documenting appropriately. These specialists are members of the Patient Care Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care. Patients served may include adolescent through adult-geriatric as a Cardio-Vascular Interventional Tech; infant through adult-geriatric as a Radiology Technologist.

3. Functions under minimal level of direct supervision. Requires a confident individual to carry out activities necessary to achieve desired results with minimal direction by supervisor. Reports directly to the Radiology Manager. Functions under the direction of the Interventional Radiologists, Director of Radiology Services and the Medical Director of Radiology.

Qualifications

• Satisfactory completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Currently licensed and certified in the State of Maryland.
• Registration in appropriate specialized field of expertise is preferred. 2-4 years experience in specialized field of interventional radiology preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
