We are looking for talented REGISTERED NURSES to join our CARDIAC PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT team here at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

UMMC CARDIAC PROGRESSIVE CARE: Cardiac PCU is a 26-bed fast-paced cardiac medical/surgical unit. Our unit often accepts between 5 to 12 admissions in a 24-hr period. The most frequent diagnoses seen on our unit include chest pain, NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF exacerbations, dysrhythmias, coronary artery disease, aortic stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and pulmonary hypertension. We care for post-procedural patients including cardiac catheterization, ablations, ICD or pacemaker insertions, stent placements, transcatheter aortic valve replacements, Watchman Device insertion, and MitraClip procedures. CPCU nurses have the ability to deflate TR Bands and manage cardiac drips including Milrinone, Dobutamine, Heparin, Lasix, Nitroglycerin, and Veletri. Our nurses also monitor and maintain Swan-Ganz catheters on IMC level patients. Since the first COVID surge, our unit has taken over the Medical Observation Unit, which is a 10-bed medical unit where we care for both observation and admitted medicine patients. Our nursing staff seamlessly staff both units as one for a total of 36 beds.
