    General Summary
    Responsible for the provision of psychotherapy and care coordination services including, but not limited to, assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning and coordination of care, case management functions, and provision of individual/family and group therapy. May provide crisis intervention and de-escalation. Works with diverse populations, demographics, and age groups to provide collaborative care. Collects, tabulates data, and alerts treating team to potential/risk issues. This role completes utilization reviews and all documentation.

    Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
    The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.

    1. Provides short term and crisis psychotherapy to individuals/families. Group therapy as needed.
    2. Provides crisis assessment and intervention as needed. Must triage at-risk guests to higher level of care as needed.
    3. Independently completes comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnostic formulation using DSM V criteria, treatment planning, and discharge planning in accordance with state and federal guidelines within the timeframe established by the program policy.
    4. Provides psychiatric case management services including but not limited to: coordination of care with outpatient providers, assistance with application for entitlements and social services, resource linkage, and referrals to other services as needed.
    5. Participates in ongoing consultation with treatment team including group rounds, clinical reviews, and supervision.
    6. Maintains all documentation and charting requirements on all guest encounters and services in accordance with program policy and procedures.
    7. Identifies and prioritizes insurance reviews with communication to payors using demonstrated knowledge of utilization review. Documentation and tracking of authorizations.
    8. Establishes an effective, professional, and compassionate means of communicating and collaborating with guests, physicians, social workers, payors, and administrators to ensure safe and efficient services. Effectively utilizes Motivational Interviewing techniques and AIDET communication models.

    Education & Training

    1. Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited program required.
    2. Maryland licensure LMSW or LGPC is required. Licensed LCSW-C or LCPC is preferred.
    3. BLS certification required within 60 days of start date.

    Work Orientation & Experience

    1. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a behavioral health treatment setting implementing psychotherapeutic and crisis intervention services required.
    2. Care coordination experience preferred.

    Skills & Abilities

    1. Demonstrate ability to provide compassionate care in completing psychiatric assessments, treatment plans, care coordination, and discharge planning in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
    2. Demonstrate competence in the provision of individual/family therapy and group therapy as needed.
    3. Demonstrate competence to independently assess and treat guests in crisis in a person-centered, compassionate manner.
    4. Ability to provide care coordination, and entitlement and resource linkage.
    5. Demonstrate ability to (a) communicate and collaborate with both internal and external customers; (b) assess, adapt, and calmly respond to changing/or crisis environment; (c) make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures, and ethical standards; (d) develop and implement treatment plans for guests relative to his/her specific needs in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
    6. Complete accurate and timely utilization review/obtaining and documentation of authorizations. Ability to utilize computer and software systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    7. Flexibility to assess and treat guests/families with a variety of behavioral health conditions and needs
