    Job Description

    Under the general administrative direction, oversees the deployment of staff to all UMMS member organizations and healthcare providers and is responsible for ensuring the success of the Staffing Center’s mission and strategic objectives as they relate to customer satisfaction and optimal utilization of health system resources.

    Under general administrative direction, the Manager is accountable for the assignment of staff to provide patient care which supports the strategic and annual plans of the system and member organization in achieving clinical, financial and service quality objectives. This role is accountable for the quality of clinical services delivered, the competency and performance of the Staffing Center staff and for designing and maintaining systems to support filling the staffing needs identified by member organizations. The Manager is responsible for the management and deployment of Staffing Center per diem staff, long term agreements, as well as both agency/contracted resources,. This position is responsible for creating tactical and strategic planning in partnership with member organizations to address interim staffing needs. The manager is a key participant in organizational project teams and work groups as appropriate or assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    If Over Nursing:

    • BSN required. Master’s degree in related field preferred. Current licensure as a RN in the State of Maryland is required.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice experience and three years of demonstrated management experience in hospital operations or a clinical department is required, experience in staffing, scheduling and deployment of staff to multiple units and organizations preferred.

    If Over Allied Health:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in clinical allied health background, Healthcare or Business Management or related field.
    • Two years of demonstrated management experience in healthcare operations or a clinical department is required. Experience in staffing, scheduling and deployment of staff to multiple units and organizations preferred.
